The Leadership Development Industry Has a Credibility Crisis
Organisations invest billions annually in leadership development. Most of that investment produces certificates — not evidence. Leaders collect credentials that confirm attendance, not performance. Employers have no reliable way to distinguish capable leaders from credentialled ones.
Attendance Is Not Evidence
Certificates confirm that a leader showed up and completed a programme designed by the same organisation that sold it. Development and verification are different activities — conflating them produces a market in which no one can answer the most important question: what did this leader actually deliver?
Your Credential Should Work Harder
When a board considers an appointment or a talent team maps a pipeline, what carries weight is independently verifiable proof of leadership scope and impact — not the title of a course attended years ago. The infrastructure to make your credentials work at the moment they need to now exists.
Organisations Have No Leadership Quality Mark
Walk through any serious GCC corporate and you find quality marks for processes, governance, and sustainability. There has been no externally verified mark for leadership quality — until the LEM. Saying you invest in leadership is not the same as being able to prove it.

Submit your application. LII reviews your experience profile and confirms the appropriate certification within 3 working days. No fee until your certification is confirmed.
Portfolio Build
You build your four-component evidence portfolio from your existing workplace experience — no attendance, no modules, no new learning required. This phase typically takes 10–14 weeks.
Independent Assessment
Your portfolio is assessed by an independent LII assessor against the published capability standard for your certification. Internal verification follows before any decision is issued.
Panel Assessment
A structured panel interview with an independent assessor and external moderator confirms the evidence and tests the scope of your leadership in context.
Certified & Verifiable
Certification issued. Your LII Digital Passport activates immediately — a W3C Verifiable Credential accessible via QR scan or API. Certification designation is issued via Digital Passport. Includes recognised LII membership status.

Every LII certification generates a W3C Verifiable Credential — machine-readable, independently verifiable by any employer in seconds, holder-controlled.
